The pods are harvested when they are fully developed but still green, and then undergo a complex curing process that includes blanching, sweating, drying, and conditioning to develop the distinctive flavor and aroma.

Once the vanilla beans are fully cured, they can be sold as whole beans, or processed into vanilla extract, powder, or paste for use in a variety of food, beverage, and fragrance products. The project can be highly profitable due to the premium price of vanilla, but it requires careful attention to detail, labor-intensive processes, and long-term commitment.
